bloggy business

big, tall, and lugged, pt. iv

Racks for this one is done. Rear rack for lightly loaded panniers. Front rack for a handlebar bag and low(ish) riders. The frame's geometry is for a front load bias, so the front rack is a bit sturdier. And a custom decaleur with integrated cable hanger, which matches the rear cable hanger nicely.

Had a lot of fun incorporating curves into the design of the racks. Makes them go along well with the curves of the lugwork. There's a bit more finish work to do on these (lots of scotchbrite in my future, frownyface emoji, polishing is my least favorite framebuilding activity) before taking them to the plater's. It will be a couple of months before it's time for assembly, but I'm really looking forward to seeing everything come together.
